South Beach Diet

Posted on June 24th, 2008 by seraphim in Diet Logs
South beach diet is getting more popular each day. There are lots of people who swears that they lost a couple of pounds by starting the south beach diet bandwagon.

All you have to do is distinguish “good carbohydrates” and “good fats”. Good carbs are basically high in fiber  and digested and absorbed slowly by our body. While some of the good fats include polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats especially those with omega-3 fatty acids.

Some people who’s into the south beach diet buys food from chefs. There are lots of affordable meals that you can choose from. Imagine eating the good stuff 24/7. Wow!

Also, I searched the net and found out that Kraft has a line called “South Beach Living” for those into the South Beach diet.

For those of you who can’t afford to buy south beach diet foods from chefs, here’s a sample 5-minute preparation breakfast recipe courtesy of Kraft foods:

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 slices OSCAR MAYER Ready to Serve Canadian Bacon
  • 1/2 of a small whole wheat bagel, toasted
  • 1/8 of a medium Granny Smith apple, cut into 3 slices
  • 2 Tbsp. KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • DIRECTIONS

Heat Canadian bacon as directed on pkg.; place on bagel half.
Top with apples; sprinkle evenly with cheese.
Microwave on MEDIUM (50%) 30 to 35 sec. or until cheese begins to melt. Serve warm.

Remember, south beach diet only helps you to eliminate those “bad carbs and bad fats”. You must also have a good lifestyle and be sure to exercise regularly. )
